Cracker JacksThis project has been discontinued. The code got to out of hand, and the graphics just plain sucked! For now I have project_3 that is coming along nicely. Check my home page for updates on what I'm up to. Jan 11, 2003 Well, you can now travel between to different scenes. Have to add in a better routine to handle moving between sections, but that will come in time. I've also been considering making the entire project object oriented. But first I want to see if I can add in some other characters to interact with. Jan 10, 2003 Small update 'cause I'm over my girlfiend's house. Started writting the proposal. Also made additional backgrounds. Jan 9, 2003 Just spent a little time with the game. Interface is pretty much complete. Keeps track of bullets fired. going to begin working on more animations for the "hero". Also thinned out the code a bit and added in the first function. (more will be added in later, I just find it easier to work this way). Added in a second module for refreshing the screen. Also added in the kick. Now I think all the additional moves will be easy to add in. Tommorrow I'll worry about that. Jan 8, 2003 Hey now! Some cool features added today. Now loads an interface overlaying the background. Doesn't do much yet, but its there. Also added in bounding so you can no longer go wandering off the screen. Still no more extensive control over the hero, but that will come soon. Oh yea, and the game has been given a temporary name "Cracker Jacks". I even have a neat little logo to use as a title screen following the "Powered by Allegro" screen (removed). Nice. Some other minor changes, but nothing worth mentioning. Update Changed the background to something that is more in proportion to the characters. Also added the option to draw a pistol by pressing alt. Intro comes on until key is hit. Jan. 7, 2003 Well, here it is. My first frigign game. Whoop-de-doo. Anyway, as of the last update the only things it currently does are moving left and right, and recognizing some other keyed in actions. Next is to add in some various actions to be performed as well as some collision detection for the boarders on the screen. |
